Once, a farmer had an old apple-tree in his farm. The tree had stopped bearing fruits but it was home to many creatures. The man decided to cut the tree and use its wood for furniture. So, he brought an axe and was about to cut the tree when the birds cried, “Please do not cut the tree as it is home to us.” The farmer did not listen to them. Then, the cuckoo bird said, “I will sing songs for you if you do not cut the tree.” But still, the farmer did not listen. Then he saw a hole in the tree. There was a beehive in the hole. The farmer tasted some honey and was happy. He thought, ‘The tree is not useless after all.’ So, he decided not to cut the tree and went away.
