The Good Bear

Once there were three friends–a bear, a squirrel and a rabbit. They were going to play. “Do not go into the river,” warned the rabbit’s mother. “And do not get dirty,” warned the bear’s mother. The three went off and played a lot. All three got tired and sat on the grass. “I am feeling thirsty!” gasped the rabbit. The bear said, “I will get water for you.” He went to the river and brought the water to drink. Soon, the squirrel felt hungry. So, the bear climbed a tree and brought some nuts. In the evening, all three returned home. Mother Bear was angry to see the sad state of the bear. She said, “You have been naughty. You are all wet and dirty.” But the squirrel told her everything. Mother Bear was proud of her son and said, “You are not naughty but a kind little bear!”
