One day, a school teacher was going through the forest when he was attacked by a band of dacoits. When the chief dacoit heard that the man was a school teacher, he decided to test his skills. He handed a pumpkin to the teacher and said, “Tell me the weight of this pumpkin. If you are not able to tell me so, then you will be punished with a hundred lashes.” Now, the teacher was a clever man. He looked at the pumpkin and thought silently. Then he spoke, “This pumpkin weighs the same as your head.” Now, the chief’s head could only be weighed if it was separated from the chief’s body. The chief got scared. He gave a weak laugh and said, “I was just joking. You are free to go.” The clever teacher walked away smiling.
