Interesting fact : They make a sweet-sounding, high-pitched bird-like call and hence their name.

Its bird-like call can be heard during spring and summer. These small (5cm) frogs get down from trees only to breed. They come out in the night to feed on insects. They use their limbs to smear mucous over their bodies and keep them moist. The eggs hatch in 40 hours and become adults in a month.
