Native to : Sub-Saharan Africa

Interesting fact : It is the second-longest venomous snake in the world measuring 2 to 3 metres.

Conservation status : Least Concern

One of the world’s deadliest and fastest snakes, it gets its name from its inky-black inside of the mouth. Though they are skittish, when they attack, yet they bite repeatedly injecting a large amount of venom. Humans can die if not treated with anti-venom within 7-15 hours. They are active in the day and attack their prey by surprise.
