Once, a young girl wanted to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus by offering something to Him. Seeing the gold, frankincense and myrrh brought by others, she despaired that she had no gift to bring, for she was poor indeed. She thought she could gift some flowers but winter had been cold and harsh and there were no flowers to be found. Saddened, the girl began to weep. An angel saw the girl crying. He came near her and saw the ground that was wet from her tears. So, the angel sprung a beautiful bush that bloomed of white roses. He said to the girl, “Offer these white roses to the Lord, for these are purer than anything else in the world.” The girl was very happy. She plucked the roses and marched off to where Baby Jesus lay.
