The Tailor and the Giant

A certain king was very disturbed as his kingdom was threatened by a giant. Finally, the king announced that whoever killed the giant would marry the princess. Now, a tailor, who had heard nothing of this, was working hard. He had killed seven flies in one blow. He felt so proud that he boasted about it. The king’s soldiers heard him and took him to the king. The tailor said, “I am not afraid of anybody.” The king said, “Since you are not afraid of anybody, I am sure you will kill the giant.” When the giant saw the tailor, he burst out laughing, for he seemed to be a very timid man. But the tailor did not waste his time and started stitching the giant. By the time he had completed, the giant had been completely bound. The king was happy and married his daughter to the tailor.
