A hyena had two slaves, a dog and a ram. The hyena wanted to eat them both. But he waited for the right time. Suddenly, he saw some men eating honey. The hyena scared the men away. The ram had a little gourd in which he put the honey. The dog picked the sandals of the men. When they had gone a short distance, the hyena got hungry. He pounced upon the dog and the ram to catch them but they ran and came to a tree. And lo! There was a lion under that tree. They dipped a sandal into the honey and gave it to the lion. He liked it and asked for more. But there was no honey. The dog said, “The sweet honey is in the hyena’s stomach.” While the lion argued with the hyena for honey, the ram and the dog ran away.
