The Little Girl

Once, a woman had a girl no bigger than a thumb. The woman named her Thumbelina and loved her very much. But one day, a frog stole her to get her married to her son. She kept her on a leaf in the middle of a pond. “Now she cannot run anywhere,” said Mother Frog to her son. Thumbelina cried and cried. A bird saw her in this state and felt sad for her. She carried Thumbelina away till they reached the country of flowers. The bird gently laid down Thumbelina on a flower. Looking at her were two blue eyes. They belonged to the king of the flower fairies. They could not take their eyes off each other. It was love all the way for them. The fairy king proposed to Thumbelina and they got married and lived happily ever after!
