A spider was worried. Winter was fast approaching. She had to get ready for that. So, at dawn, she wove her web between two stalks of a bush. She thought, ‘Maybe an insect will come this way.’ She kept waiting. Suddenly, along came a butterfly in search of some flowers and flew right into the web! The spider was happy. The butterfly started struggling. Then she pleaded to the spider, “Please spare me. Have pity on me!” “But I am so hungry,” replied the spider. But the butterfly reasoned, “My wings will not feed you.” The spider felt that what the butterfly said made sense. So, she released the butterfly. The butterfly could not thank her enough for her kindness. Then she flew away telling herself to be careful in the future.
