It was Benny’s sixth birthday. She knew she would get a present from her Grandpa. He had promised to give her a pet on her sixth birthday. But she didn’t know what to ask for. Grandpa took her to a pet shop to choose her pet. “There is a duck with three little ducklings in the garden. How about one of those, Benny?” asked Grandpa. “They are good but that’s not what I want,” replied Benny. Next came the two puppies. “Do you like these puppies?” he asked Benny. “They are fantastic but I am looking for something else.” She replied. There were pigs, rabbits and colourful birds too, but Benny didn’t want them either. She was now sad as her pet was nowhere to be found. Just then she saw a parrot playing with a tortoise. “Oh! This tortoise would be the pet I want,” cried Benny. She took the tortoise and brought it home as her birthday gift from her Grandpa.
