Melinda loved to read and learn new things. She did not like to play all the time. The other children thought she was different. They laughed and made fun of her. She did not like others making fun of her. Melinda did not know what to do about it. But when she saw a dancing swan, she found the answer. One afternoon, Melinda saw a crowd gathered by the lake at the park. Moving closer, she saw the group was watching a small swan dancing by herself. A person said, “The other swans may be beautiful but this one is courageous. Look how confidently she is dancing.” Melinda understood that the dancing swan stood out because it had the courage to be different. From that day onwards, Melinda did not worry about the other children laughing at her. She did not pay attention to their comments. Now she became a strong and confident girl.
