Once, there was a severe drought in a certain village. People started leaving their houses to places where there was water. Now, some thieves saw this and took the opportunity. They started robbing their houses. One day, they came to a man’s house who was the king’s minister. He was very intelligent. He saw the thieves coming and made a plan with his son. Then he called out to his son, “Son, go and get all the jewellery of the house. Put it in a box.” The son put big stones in a box and took it to his father. The father threw the box in the well. At midnight, the thieves jumped into the well to get the box. In the meanwhile, the minister called the king’s soldiers and had them arrested. The king was very happy and applauded the minister’s courage and quick thinking.
