It was Fred’s birthday. He was four now. His favourite pastime was to play with the telephone though mummy and daddy kept telling him that it was not a toy. But as it was his birthday today, they allowed him to make his first call. It was to grandfather and grandmother. Daddy told him the numbers and he dialled them. It was so nice to hear grandma’s voice over the phone. Fred said, “Hello Grandma. It is Fred here!” Grandma and grandpa were very happy to hear Fred’s voice. They showered their blessing on him. Grandma said, “Fred, may you live a long life! We hope to see you in person next time. Have a great day.” Fred replied, “Yes! I will surely meet you on my next birthday.” It was a great day for Fred.
