Swallows

During autumn, leaves turn yellow and days become shorter. At this time, some swallows like the Zip fly to Africa. Swallows are small, with pointed narrow wings, short bills and small weak feet; some species have forked tails. Swallows are able to produce many different calls or songs, which are used to express excitement, to communicate with others of the same species, during courtship, or as an alarm when a predator is in the area. They fly thousands of miles every year. And the nests which the swallows build will still be there when they return in spring. But until the warmer weather returns again, everyone has to say farewell to the swallows and wish them a safe journey. Do you know that when swallows nest under a roof or beneath a window, it brings good luck to the house?
