The gods captured by Sindhu started praying to Lord Ganesha. They performed a yajna to please Ganesha. The fumes of this yajna produced a peacock with Omkar Ganesha. Ganesha was immensely pleased. “I will be reborn as Parvati’s son and destroy Sindhu. I will be called Vinayak, Mayureshwar, Gajanan and Dhumraketu, based on different yugas,” Ganesha promised the gods. The gods were relieved and waited patiently. Meanwhile, Shiva and Parvati shifted from Mount Kailash to Meru Parvat. Parvati wanted to have a son, so she started a 12-year stringent worship of Lord Ganesha. Ganesha came in Parvati’s dream and assured her that he would be reborn as her son on Bhadrapad Shuddha Chaturthi. As prophesied, Ganesha was reborn as Parvati’s son! Sindhu’s wicked ways and harassment went on, unabated. Shiva and Parvati could not bear it any longer and decided to move away from Meru Parvat along with their son, Ganesha. However, a demon called Kamala blocked their path. Ganesha defeated Kamalasur in no time!
