Sindhu Becomes Power-hungry

The Sun-god, pleased with Sindhu’s penance, asked him to speak his wish. Sindhu demanded to become immortal. Sindhu got the divine nectar (amrit) from the Sun-god. “As long as the nectar stays in your stomach (near the navel), you shall not die,” the Sun-god told him. Thus, Sindhu received immortality. Sindhu became more powerful and ambitious after attaining the boon. He soon took over the entire kingdom from his father. As the new king, Sindhu became more hungry for power. He wanted to rule over the entire universe! He started defeating several gods, including Indra and Vishnu. Sindhu held captive all the gods at Gandali Nagari. Finally, he attacked Mount Kailash in order to defeat Shiva. Sindhu’s father tried to dissuade his son, but Sindhu could not be stopped. He imprisoned his father as well.
