It is the largest cobra in Africa. It has a flat head and rounded snout. They flare their hoods when threatened like most cobras. Their bite injects a deadly toxin which affects the nerves and causes death in 15 minutes. Savanna, grasslands and semi-deserts are home to these night creatures that feed on rodents, frogs and smaller snakes.
