Ryan was scared of thunder and lightning. Whenever it rained heavily accompanied by lightning and thunder, he would look away and hide. He hated lightning and thunder. One day he was playing in the park when the wind began to blow, and leaves from the trees fell on the ground. Ryan feared the worst. He thought thunder and lightning could strike any time. Ryan ran to Emma, her baby-sitter. “My dear Ryan! There is a rainstorm brewing. It might begin raining anytime now. Let us take shelter in the gazebo there,” Emma said. Emma did not want to take any chance. She wanted to run to safety as quickly as possible. She ran towards the shelter with Ryan. As they waited for the storm to pass, Emma explained how storms happen. Soon, Ryan understood that he should not panic at thunderstorms! He should be careful but not afraid of it.
