There are two types of buffalos–the water or domestic Asian buffalo and the African buffalo. They are distinguished by the horns on their heads; the Asian species have them growing out, and the latter have them plastered to the head. Unlike its Asian counterpart, the African buffalo is aggressive and has never been domesticated.
