A Hundred Faces

One day, a king asked a peasant about his welfare. The peasant replied, “I earn four coins in a day. I keep one coin for myself. I give one in gratitude; I return one coin and I give one coin on interest. The coin, which I keep, I divide into four. One part for myself, one for my wife, one for my parents and one for my kids.” The king was thrilled to hear this. He had found a riddle. The king told the peasant to keep this a secret till he saw a hundred faces of the king. He asked everyone the riddle but nobody was able to answer it. Finally, a courtier answered the riddle. The king knew that the peasant had told him. He called the peasant and said, “You broke your promise.” The peasant replied, “No Sir! I only told the secret when he gave me a hundred gold coins. Each coin had your face.”
