Yayati became desperate when Narad advised him not to meet Ram. “O Narad! What shall I do now?” he asked. “King Yayati, do not worry. There is a solution to your problem. Immediately go and meet Devi Anjana, Hanuman’s mother! She is the only person who will be able to help you!” said Narad. Yayati found this to be a wise suggestion. So, he went to the ashram of Devi Anjana in Mount Kanchan. She was deeply immersed in prayer. He fell at her feet and called out in an anguished tone, “Devi! Please save me; I have come here to seek your help.” Yayati’s voice distracted Anjana. She opened her eyes and got up. She then pacified Yayati, “Son, be assured that nothing will happen to you. My son Hanuman is invincible. I am sure he will protect you with his strength.”
