Besides preventing people from misusing certain drugs, liquid drug delivery systems are sometimes preferred because they are faster acting than pills. Pills make bad-tasting medicines easy to swallow because only a little of the medicine actually touches the tongue before the pill is swallowed. Liquid medicines can be absorbed more rapidly than most pills. While liquid medicines cannot be measured to the exact dose, pills can be measured to take the specific dose.
