Where was the First Space Rocket Launched?

The V-2 rocket was the first rocket launched into space. It was launched from Peenemünde, an island off Germany’s Baltic coast on 3 October, 1942. It became the first man-made object to travel into space by crossing the Kármán line with the vertical launch of MW 18014 on 20 June 1944. The first rocket which actually launched something into space was used for launching Sputnik, the first satellite, on October 4, 1957. The rocket that launched Sputnik was a R-7 ICBM rocket.
