Where was the First E-mail Sent Over the Internet?

The first E-mail was sent by computer engineer Ray Tomlinson to himself in 1971. The E-mail was sent from one computer to another computer in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It travelled via ARPANET, a network of computers that was the precursor to the Internet. His first message read ‘testing 123’. The first E-mail from space was sent in 1991. Tomlinson is better known for introducing the ‘@’ sign in an E-mail address.
