The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a bell tower in Pisa, Italy. The tower is 8 storeys high, 55.86 metres (183.27 feet) on the lower side and 56.67 metres (185.93 feet) on the higher side. It weighs about 14,500 tons. The Tower of Pisa is world-famous for its tilt. Seven bells are there in the bell-chamber at the top of the tower. Its construction started in the year 1173 and was completed in 1372. Construction of the tower occurred in three stages over 199 years.
