This good quality corn was developed by repeating the process of cross breeding of different varieties of corns and saving only the best plants for seeds. Hybrid corn is more resistant to diseases and insects, and was also able to withstand heavy windstorms. This hybrid corn was high yielding as well. Hybrid corn is a leading farm crop in the United States today.
