Once, a flock of wild geese lived on a tree in a dense forest. Among the geese was a wise old pelican. But no one liked the pelican, as he used to narrate stories with good lessons. One day, when the geese had gone out in search of food, a hunter laid his net there. In the evening, when the geese returned, they found themselves trapped in the net! They cried for help but there was no one to hear their cries. Then the wise old pelican said, “Tomorrow morning when the hunter comes, be very still and pretend that you are dead. He will not take dead birds and will throw the net on the ground. When the hunter will throw the net towards the ground, you all should flap your wings together and fly in unity.” The geese agreed. Next morning, the hunter came early. All the geese did the same, flapped up in the air and flew away.
