The King of Jericho knew that Israelites had already crossed the river of Jordan, and as a precautionary measure asked his gatemen to tight close the gate tightly. The first time he heard the priests of Israelites playing the music, he thought that his city was already under the attack. However, nothing happened. They came close to the walls and returned back. The same thing continued for the next six days. Quite confusing it was, but the King had no other way but to wait and watch. Joshua on the seventh day had different instructions from God for his priest and soldiers. He asked his men to march past the wall seven times. On the first six times, they were supposed to go close to the wall and then return back. However, on the seventh time, the sound of the trumpet would be loud and quite annoying for the people on the other side of the wall. As planned, when the trumpets were blown for the seventh time, the walls of the gate crashed and fell down. The soldiers went in and conquered the city as promised they found the Rahab woman and protected her family.
