The Taos Hum

A hum of unknown origin seems to have first been reported in the early 1990s in the town of Taos, in North-central New Mexico. This is the so-called ‘Taos Hum’. The hum is invariably described as low in frequency and reminiscent of a distant pump, an idling diesel truck, or perhaps someone’s high-powered audio bass running amok. Sensitive equipment was set up in the homes of several ‘hearers’, measuring sounds and vibrations but after extensive testing nothing unusual was detected. Acoustic and magnetic experiments conducted could find nothing unusual. As a result, we are left with a mystery.
