Jenny preferred to walk along dirt trails than take a proper road, because she thought it was more exciting. Once, her friends wanted to visit an old church across the moors. They all took their bicycles and rode along the paved path. But Jenny said, “Taking the path is so boring. I’ll ride cross-country.” One of her friends, Emma was uneasy. She told the others, “I don’t think it’s safe for her to go alone. I will follow her.” Jenny had already sped off, and Emma followed. Ten minutes later, Emma gasped in horror. It had rained the night before, and the ground was slippery in places. Jenny was riding much too fast, and suddenly, her cycle slipped. She went sliding down the slope! Emma immediately stopped her cycle and ran down. She grabbed Jenny’s hand and pulled her back from the edge of the moor. Jenny could not believe what had happened, and thanked Emma again and again!
