A poor little girl had no room to stay in and nothing more to eat except for a piece of bread and a ragged shawl to beat the cold. One day, she met an old man begging for alms. He cried, “I am very hungry. Please give me some bread!” The little girl immediately gave her bread and walked ahead. She then saw a young boy, shivering in the cold. “Could you give me something to keep me warm?” he asked. The little girl had no choice but to give her ragged shawl. At night she looked up at the star spangled sky and prayed to God to give her some shelter and food. When she opened her eyes, she found star dollars, shining bright on the ground and heard a voice say, “This is your reward for doing good to others.”
