Ved Vyas was famous for his work of writing several scriptures. He is one of the most knowledgeable people known till date. But the great sage also committed a blunder while composing the Puranas. While composing any great scripture, it is a norm to start with a ‘Mangalshlok’ (greetings to Ganesha to carry out work without any obstacle). But Vyas was so proud of himself that he forgot to write a ‘Mangalshlok’. As a result, the sage faced several difficulties and hurdles in executing the work on the Puranas. Even after completing the task, his work was not complete. Vyas left many gaps in the script. A puzzled Vyas then approached Brahma. Brahma welcomed Vyas and heard his problem patiently. Vyas said, “Almighty, why am I facing so many difficulties in my holy work? I intend to create scriptures, through which people can know how to lead a good life. The knowledge of the Puranas is very important for every being. But all my efforts are in vain. Please advise a solution.”
