A peacock lived in a jungle. He was very afraid of the hunters who used to come to the jungle to hunt peacocks for their feathers. One day the peacock came rushing to the lion, the king of the jungle. He told him about the hunters. “Please help me!” he cried. The lion said, “ Don’t worry. I have a plan. You just dress us as peacocks and we will make the hunters learn their lessons.” “Excellent idea, Sir!” exclaimed the peacock. So the next morning, the peacock lent his feathers to the lion and his lion lady to cover their bodies with bright blue feathers. When the rumours that there were in the forest some wild ferocious peacocks who could kill human beings, the hunters never came back in the jungle to hunt peacocks.
