Once, there was a giraffe named Jack who lived in the jungle. Jack Giraffe loved the jungle, for there were so many trees in the jungle. And on the trees were so many leaves for him to eat Jack loved to eat leaves. All day long, he munched and munched and munched with his long neck high up in the green leaves above the ground. Oh! what a treat it was for Jack to eat such soft green leaves! The greenest, tastiest ones at the top of the tree were his favourite. As Jack was eating the leaves, he heard a sound. It was a parrot who screamed angrily, “You fool! You are eating my tail! Stop at once.” Jack was deeply embarrassed as he mistook the parrot’s green tail for leaves. He apologized to the parrot immediately. From then on, he always looked before he munched!
