India got independence from the British rule on August 15, 1947. We got independence after a long struggle. 15th August is now celebrated as Independence Day all over the country. The main celebrations are held at the Red Fort in New Delhi. The Prime Minister unfurls the tricolour. He also delivers a wonderful speech. A large crowd attends the celebration.
