The Fruits of Hard Labour

The-Fruits-of-Hard-Labour

Once, a businessman had a lazy son. One day, the businessman said, “I want you to earn something.” The son complained to his mother. She gave him a gold coin. The son showed his father the gold coin. He asked him to throw it into a well. The son did so. The wise father guessed that the source of the gold coin was the mother. So, in her absence, he asked his son to earn something. The son had to search for work. A shopkeeper offered to pay him two rupees if he carried his trunk. The son agreed. Later, he was tired. He showed the note to his father. Again, he was asked to throw it into the well. But the son cried, “No! I worked so hard for it!” The father told him that one feels the pain only when the fruits of hard labour are wasted. The son was never lazy again.
Moral: Never be lazy.
