Charlie the baby mouse has come out of his hole along with his mother to know about the world
around. Actually, it is his first day out since he was born.
They decide to go for a walk. The mother mouse on the way, like a good teacher, tells him about his friends
and enemies. Charlie listens to everything very attentively. He is a good listener.
On the way, Charlie spots an apple tree. He urges his mother to help him climb up the tree.
With his mother’s help, he soon reaches the top of the tree.
Charlie is not scared. He has his mother down below, as a back-up help. But what a quick learner
Charlie is! He quickly plucks an apple from the tree and down he climbs, in no time.
Within no time, Charlie learns the art of gathering food, of course with his mother’s help. He makes a
hole and dumps all his gathered food in it.
The mother mouse is extremely happy with her child’s effort. They gather all the food and
carry it to their home.
