Vibheeshan became the ruler of Lanka after the battle between Ravan and Ram. After a few days, he visited Ayodhya. Vibheeshan brought several gifts for Ram and Sita. He gifted a precious moti-mala to Sita. Sita wanted to present the gift to someone very dear to her. Ram instantly understood what Sita was thinking. He assured Sita that she could gift the moti-mala to someone deserving. Sita decided to gift the moti-mala to Hanuman. Hanuman accepted the gift with great humility, but started inspecting the moti-mala closely. He rolled each and every gem in the moti-mala several times. He started removing the gems, one by one, from the moti-mala. He put each gem near his ears. He then cracked them with his teeth, and carefully examined the broken pieces. Finally, he threw them aside with disappointment. Everyone was shocked to see Hanuman’s strange behaviour.
