Sheikh Chilli’s village had a very strict teacher, who was very concerned about the environment. He used to tell his students not to waste God’s boon to mankind. He told them to be careful with the natural resources or one fine day humans would be left with no more water or clean air. Sheikh heard the advice but didn’t understand much. His mother told him to visit the village school and find out more about saving trees and water. Sheikh went and met the teacher. The teacher told him that saving water and trees was very important for our survival, so we should use these resources intelligently. Sheikh came home and saw his wife cooking food with the help of wood and his mother washing clothes with water. He yelled at them, “You idiots! Why are you wasting water and wood? How do you think we will survive?” His mother realised that mere words cannot educate a person.
