The leaves are oval or triangleshaped, and have toothed appearance. The small petal-less flowers are in dense spikes. It blooms from August to October. The seeds are dark red-brown. The stems are ridged and green to red. Red goosefoot is a favourite food of birds and is also good for poultry.
