It was a day to dig potatoes. Mr. Jones took his two boys with him to dig the potatoes. Mr. Jones dug the potatoes and put them in the buckets. The boys watched their father for some time and then followed him. Soon, Tom was carrying two buckets of potatoes to the house. But John was trailing quite behind Tom. Nobody understood the reason for this at first but later it became clear when Tom tripped over a wire and his buckets fell. The buckets were half-filled with crumpled newspapers under the potatoes. “Cheat! Cheat!” called out John, “How could you do this?” Dad ordered, “Now you will have to do your share of work honestly.” Poor Tom had to work all over again.
