Plumed Basilisk

Interesting fact : The basilisk is also a good swimmer and can stay under water for up to 30 minutes.

Conservation status : Least Concern

The plumed basilisk can walk on water by sprinting short distances. It’s bright green with blue spots running down its back. You can tell a male from its crests on the head, back and tail but the female has them only on the head. They thrive near water bodies in tropical rainforests, and eat insects, rodents, lizards, fruits and flowers.
