The orange spotted filefish is found in lagoonsand coral reefs feeding exclusively on acropora polyps. It is found in pairs or in small groups on clumps of algae. It is pale blue with eight rows of orange-yellow patches, a long snout and a small upturned mouth. It is monogamous, spawning between May and October, eggs hatching just after sunset on the second day. Lifespan is 4-5 years.
