Found in marshes and swamps of tropical forests is the non-venomous Malaysian blood python. It is bright red with tan blotches and changes its head colour from dark to light grey. Active in the night they prey on rats, mice, rabbits, chickens and other rodents by biting and then squeezing them to death. They live for over 20 years in captivity.
