It is a tall mountain located on the north coast of Iceland. Kirkjufell means Church Mountain in Icelandic. The mountain is named such because of its beautiful symmetry and freestanding form. 463 metre in height, this perfectly symmetrical mountain is one of the most photographed ones in Iceland. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, the mountain has wonderful walking trails and more challenging climbs to the top where bird and fish fossils have been found.
