King David

King-David

Once, there lived a kind and generous king named David. He usually went on long walks within his kingdom and checked on his subjects. One morning, David was on his usual rounds. He came to a village and tied his horse to a tree. As he was walking around, he saw a poor farmer crying in front of his house. “Why are you crying, my dear man?” David asked the poor farmer. “I have faced a huge loss this year,” the farmer said. King David had never hesitated to donate money to poor people and gave him a hundred gold coins. But the farmer said, “Your Majesty, I need only fifteen gold coins.” When David asked him the reason, the farmer replied, “I will buy seeds and two bulls with the money. I will use them in my field and then sell the crops to earn money.” King David was pleased with the farmer’s honesty and praised him.
