Once, on a beautiful summer day, an elephant was wandering in the jungle. Suddenly, he stopped. He saw his friend, the hummingbird, lying on its back with its tiny feet up in the air. “Hello friend! What are you doing?” asked the elephant. The hummingbird replied, “Hello, Mr. Elephant! I heard that the sky was going to fall. So, to help, I am ready to hold it up when it falls.” The elephant thought about this for a few minutes. Then, he laughed aloud and said, “Oh, Hummingbird, you are the tiniest bird in the world and the sky is so big! Do you really think that those tiny feet could help hold up the sky?” The hummingbird still kept its feet up in the air, and was quite determined to do so. It said to the elephant, “Not alone, dear friend. But I am ready to do my part. Each one must do what he can, and this is my part.”
