Fit for Geronimo

Prince Geronimo loved new clothes. He would tell the tailor exactly the colours and the designs that he wanted on each of his dresses. Trouble arose with the cobbler. The best cobbler in the city, Hudson, deaf and had his own idea about what a good shoe was. He didn’t hear anything the prince said, but simply made a boot or shoe! When Geronimo wanted a purple shoe with golden tassels, Hudson made a black shoe with silver buckles. Geronimo thought that he should change the cobbler, but there was no one so good! However, Hudson realised that Geronimo was not very happy. Therefore, he decided to make a shoe fit for a prince. He got the bits of leather and dyed them all a different colour. Then he stitched them all into a pair of boots! “There you are!” he said presenting them to the prince, “Now you can wear them with anything!”
