Balloon-House (61 Near Nature Experiments)

You will need:

1. String
2. ½ cup of soil
3. ¼ cup of water
4. Funnel
5. Radish seeds
6. Measuring cup
7. 2-3 large clear balloons

We all have seen green-houses. But what if you could create your own green-house inside a balloon?

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Take a funnel and fit it in the neck of a large clear balloon.
2. Next, pour a half cup of soil into the balloon through the funnel and add a quarter cup of water after that.
3. Pour radish seeds through the funnel into the balloon.
4. Remove the funnel and blow air into the balloon but not till the maximum limit; otherwise, it may burst.
5. Tie a string around the mouth of the inflated balloon and gently shake the balloon so as to mix the soil, water and seeds.
6. Hang the balloon indoors, preferably near a window, where there is sunlight.

RESULT

The plastic environment created inside the balloon helps develop a sort of green-house environment for the seeds. The sunlight increases the temperature inside the balloon and the balloon traps the heat inside keeping it warm. Also, the humidity levels inside the balloon will increase, creating water to help grow the radishes.
